Jewelry VDW Selection 2015: a contest dedicated to design applied to jewelry and opened to designers, artisans, artists, jewels’ creators or simply design enthusiasts

Jewelry VDW Selection 2015

Venice Design Week in collaboration with AGC (Associazione Gioiello Contemporaneo) and  the Design Hotel Ca’ Pisani will host the Jewelry Venice Design Week Selection, a contest dedicated to design applied to jewelry and opened to designers, artisans, artists, jewels’ creators or simply design enthusiasts, who could have the opportunity to make their creations and themselves known to a wide and specialist audience. In fact, the jewels proposed by the participants will be evaluated by a committee of experts and exhibited in a historical Venetian palace. The committee is composed of some AGC representatives, the design teacher at the Accademia delle Belle Arti in Venice Roberto Zanon, Elena Rizzi from OHMYBLUE Gallery, Anna Schetelich from OONA Gallery Berlin, the art lover and owner Marianna Serandrei, the journalist Valeria Accornero and some VDW organizators. The pre-selection will concern 20 participants and only 12 of them will be the final winners: they can exhibit their creations at the prestigious Design Hotel Ca’ Pisani in Venice in an exhibition of ten days inside the hotel during the Venice Design Week. As a consequence, they could benefit from a great visibility reaching an educated public and take advantage from exclusive marketing services offered by Venice Design Week, increasing further their visibility and reaching an international audience, as Venice Design Week participate to other Design Weeks during the year. Our final goals is the creation of a network between designers, producers and costumers; apart from a great exposure, we want to offer them the opportunity to create new collaborations with producers and costumers, helping them to sell their products and to enhance their production, too. The exhibition will be inaugurated with a presentation ceremony at the Design Hotel Ca’ Pisani  and there will be also a conference held by the cinema expert Carlo Montanaro on the theme of “Jewels in the cinema”, during which he will try to analyse the important role of jewels in the cinema since nowadays.
